Emploi-Québec provides job seekers with a wide range of services.
General services
- Online Placement: an online job bank.
- LMI Online: a vast source of information about the labour market: trades and occupations high in demand, employer requirements, job descriptions, job prospects, wages and salaries, training, etc.
- Placement étudiant: a job bank, including internships, for students.
Specialized services
- Employment assistance services: information sessions on the labour market, career counselling and choices, job search club, etc.
- Manpower training: an assistance allowance and reimbursement of training expenses for eligible individuals at risk of long-term unemployment.
- Job readiness: activities allowing participants to develop the personal skills needed to find and keep a job.
- Employment Integration Program for Immigrants and Visible Minorities (PRIIME): help in gaining a first work experience in Québec.
- Québec pluriel: facilitation of labour market integration for young people from cultural communities and visible minorities.
- Assistance for persons with disabilities: financial assistance for hiring and job retention of persons with disabilities.
- Support for self-employment: financial assistance for preparing a business plan, starting one’s own business or creating one’s own job.
- Wage Subsidy measure: financial assistance to facilitate employment integration.
- Wage subsidy for older workers
- Return to Work Supplement: financial assistance for eligible individuals who find a job to help cover the expenses related to their return to work.
Under certain rules, these services may be provided to:
- Employment Insurance recipients.
- Persons receiving benefits under a last-resort financial assistance program.
- Persons who do not receive government income support.
- Salaried or self-employed workers.
